    Hey anyone?

I would like to use LR Mobile with two computers as well as my phone (and possibly a tablet but not sure about that yet). I seem to be running in circles.
While I understand that LRM can only use one catalogue. I’m not sure I understand the implications when trying to use two computers. I would be willing to (and have been contemplating) using and external drive for my LR photos, and just carrying that between computers. I guess I am wondering what exactly gets “deleted” when you first try to set up LRM and you get that message. I have my main desktop with all my photos on it now (backed up several times and places) and my phone and laptop have minimal images on them.. right now they are synched.

    Thanks for any insight,
    Gary

Hi Gary – I’m not sure what you’re asking. But if you’re using the same catalog on two computers you’d have to sign in and out each time you switch.

    Hi Matt
Signing in and out would be fine. I just recall when I went to sync my phone and laptop the first time, I got a warning saying the photos would be deleted. (or something to that effect) As neither of them had anything important I just said yes. Possibly it was just the catalogue that was deleted? I definitely had one on my laptop as I had LR installed for quite a while on that.
I have been using LR since the beginning and love it for the most part. Now that I have a fairly good phone camera I have been using that more and more, but for some reason am not grasping this mobile part. 🙂
I have gone over the catalogue section and the mobile section of your course.. I must be missing something.

    Thanks.

Gary – it can only be synced to one catalog. So you’d have to physically take that catalog, and move it to the other computer each time you want to move computers.
