My buddy Brian Matiash and I arrived in Las Vegas yesterday, rented our car and started our way toward Death Valley (after an In And Out Burger stop of course). It was already getting late in the afternoon and we didn’t think we’d make it in time for a sunset shoot so we pulled over at the first cool thing we saw. It ended up being these clouds in the distance. They seemed to perfectly funnel their way in toward the open area where the sun was. It’s not very Death Valley-ish but we didn’t really get into DV until it was almost dark.

The photo was taken with my Nikon D800 and Nikon 16-35mm lens. It was processed in Lightroom and finished off in onOne Perfect Effects 4 with some Tonal Contrast, color presets and a vignette.

As I write this I’m about to get some sleep to get ready for a long day. We plan on starting out at some sand dunes and who knows what the rest of the day will bring. I’ll make sure I post some more photos as I get them though. Have a great weekend!
