Great tips Matt, thanks as always.
FYI… Your week three post does not include the work assignment or a comment section.

I thought the assignment to edit a photo in 3 different ways was one of the best learning tools I had lately. It really made me think of what I want to highlight. Thanks!

you mentioned doing the TCC in Lightroom. At times I do some removal in Ps. Then I see some additiinal small TCC issues. I then go to filter and select Camera Raw. Is that as good as Lightroom?

Yes that would be fine. But why not wait until you’re back in Lightroom and do it there? Same result either way, as neither of the files would be raw anymore but at least you’re back in Lightroom.

    Thank you!
Can you help me understand the intersect mask? I understand how it works, I don’t understand why the original mask edits are wiped out when intersecting. Like your eagle and bears photo that you wanted to add a rim light to as soon as the intersect brush hit the canvas they both kinda reset.

Yes, that is the way intersect works, but if you continue to watch you’ll see that the brush intersects with the original mask. This video should help: https://mattk.com/what-does-lightrooms-masking-intersect-feature-do/
Also, don’t forget that just about anything done with Intersect could have also been done with other tools. Every mask result could have probably been accomplished 5 different ways. Thanks.

I really struggled with monkey in LR. Had to go into PS to removed muliple distractions from the monkey

Hi Matt, In the first assignment for week 2, you say to edit 3 ways for style. What is an easy way in LRC to keep the additional edits for the one photo?

Hi Lori. You can right-click the photo and create a Virtual Copy or you can use the SnapShots feature. Hope that helps.
