Edit on the Go with Lightroom
Introducing…
EDIT On The GO!
Mastering the Mobile Workflow
View, edit and share your photos while traveling and sync them back when you get home (Featuring Adobe Lightroom Classic and Lightroom)
⬇️ Learn What This Class is All About ⬇️
What Workflows Are Covered?
You travel with a tablet + would like to import, backup and edit photos on the go.
This course covers how to backup, import, organize and edit your photos with an Apple or Android tablet, card reader and portable hard drive while traveling (internet connection NOT necessary).
You’ll then learn how to get those photos on to your main computer and hard drive back home, and in to Lightroom Classic or Lightroom.
(This is for people that want to travel with a tablet but their main catalog + editing system is home on a computer)
You travel with a laptop + use LR Classic or Lightroom – and would like to import and edit photos on the go.
This course covers how to backup, import, organize and edit your photos with ONLY a laptop, card reader and portable hard drive while traveling (internet connection NOT necessary).
You’ll then learn how to get those photos on to your main computer and hard drive back home using Lightroom Classic or Lightroom.
(This is for people who have two computers – a laptop to travel with and a main computer back home)
Finally Make Sense of Lightroom and Photoshop Mobile Workflow
Part 1: Lightroom Tablet Workflow + What to do While Traveling
The biggest part of this course is the tablet workflow. This is the part you have the hardest time finding information on and trust me, I’ve scoured the internet and can’t find much either for a LR Classic user. We start by showing you how to copy and backup photos while traveling using your tablet, card reader and external hard drive. Then you’ll learn how to import in to Lightroom on the tablet (no internet or cloud needed), edit, organize and even share.
Part 2: Back Home and Getting Everything to your Computer
This is where we have a serious lack of information for a Lightroom Classic or Lightroom User. What do you do when you’re back home? We’ll cover how to get all of the original photos and edits you’ve done to your main hard drives and in to Lightroom Classic or Lightroom.
Part 3: Mobile Laptop Only Workflow
Not everyone wants to use a tablet while traveling. Part 3 of this course stands alone and doesn’t refer to the tablet part. You’ll learn some obvious and some NOT-So-Obvious ways to work with a laptop while you travel and get that work and those photos back to Lightroom Classic or Lightroom when you return home.
Other Important Stuff…
Throughout the course you’ll learn about some other important things like:
– Suggestions on gear and tablet purchases for a mobile workflow.
– How to incorporate photos from your phone in to a mobile workflow, while traveling.
– Cloud Sync troubleshooting
– How to confidently delete photos from the tablet or the cloud without worrying you may delete the wrong thing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a subscription?
No. You buy the course and you own it. You can log in and stream it online any time you want or you can download it to your computer and put it on any device you want to watch as many times as you’d like.
What software versions and Adobe Plan will I need?
You will a valid Adobe Photography Plan subscription that includes Lightroom and Lightroom Classic.
An easy way to think of it is that if your plan includes Lightroom Classic, then you have all of the software you need for the course since the Lightroom app for Tablet, phone and desktop is automatically included in every LR Classic Plan.
Is this a Cloud-only course?
No. The majority of this course is to show you how to use Lightroom on the tablet while traveling and how to bring that work back home in to your main computer using Lightroom Classic (or Lightroom Desktop).
The only time we’ll use the cloud is to sync our photos from the tablet to the cloud to make it easier to get them to your Lightroom Classic (or Lightroom Desktop) app back home.
What does 12 months of Free Updates Include?
These apps are updated at least once or twice each year. In case of a major update that affects the flow of the course, I will release an add-on / update video covering what has changed and how it would impact the workflow of the course (the course will not be re-recorded from scratch).
Matt, I understand “Mobile Workflow” can mean different things to different people. Can you please tell me things that are NOT covered in this course?
This course is NOT for you if:
- You are looking for info on mobile workflow with Adobe Bridge, ON1, Luminar, Topaz or any other non-Lightroom program.
- You want information on a color managed workflow between various devices (tablet, phone) and your computer.
- You want to exclusively use your phone while traveling and are looking for a workflow to go from DSLR/Mirrorless Camera to the phone. We will not cover that.
- Working with metadata and keywords while traveling is important to you. These topics will not be covered beyond the two basic fields included in Lightroom.
- You want to use programs other than Adobe apps for your mobile workflow. We won’t cover anything beyond Lightroom and Photoshop on the tablet and Lightroom / Lightroom Classic on the computer.
- You need troubleshooting help with your equipment. I can show you how to connect a card reader or hard drive to your tablet, but if it doesn’t work for your tablet, I can’t troubleshoot it for you.
- You want a full backup system workflow in general. This course will only cover showing you how to back them up while traveling, as well as get them to your hard drives when you get home. It’s assumed you already have a full backup workflow from there.
- You’ve never used Lightroom or Lightroom Classic before and need a full tutorial on how to use them from scratch.
- You have no idea how to edit photos in Lightroom or Lightroom Classic and you need a full tutorial on how that’s done.
What skill is this course aimed at?
Like nearly all of my editing courses, the skill level is late beginner to intermediate. If you watch me edit, you’ll see I don’t use complicated tools. I really believe the magic is knowing what to do with the tools, not necessarily the tools themselves.
If you know the basics of using the editing controls in Lightroom and how to use Layers, selections, and brushes in Photoshop you have all you need to follow this course.
Will this course cover mobile photography with a phone?
It will not. This is not a mobile/iphone photography course. This is a mobile “workflow” course for those of you using your Mirrorless/DSLR cameras while traveling and wishing to organize, edit and share those photos while traveling – and get those photos back in to your home computer and hard drives.
How is this different from Brian Matiash's Lightroom Everywhere Course?
Brian approaches things from an “all cloud” perspective, meaning you’re not using hard drives and have committed to the Adobe Cloud to store your photos. And he exclusively teaches Lightroom (desktop, tablet, phone).
My approach is about using as little “cloud” as possible (it is necessary to an extent), and assume most of you will want to transfer back to LRClassic rather than LR on the desktop – while at the same time freeing up your cloud space once the photos are on a hard drive.
However, I will also cover getting photos back in to Lightroom (not Classic) when you get back home, but again… my workflow will not use the cloud.
Brian’s approach is great if you are an all cloud user. If your photos are hard drive based, then even Brian will tell you that his workflow is not meant for that.
If I just travel with a laptop, and use Lightroom Classic, should I buy this course?
That’s a tough one. I’d say 75% of this course is aimed at tablet users because that’s what I get the most questions on. However, I do get some questions on a mobile workflow if you just travel with a laptop and want to edit in LR Classic (or LR) while traveling, and want to get the photos back to a computer when you return home.
So, if you need that workflow, then I still believe what’s included here is worth it if you don’t already know how.
If you came to this page from an email I sent, you are already on my list. Please do not fill out the form below or you will get added twice. Thanks!
