Understand Light for Perfect Exposures

Bird photography is by far the hardest genre of photography I have ever practiced. At the same time, it’s one of the most rewarding because at the very nature of bird photography, there is no guarantee.

We have no idea when we go out and shoot if we’re even going to click the shutter. And as hard as they may sound, I believe the challenge is what keeps us coming back. Knowing that at any moment we can make a magical photo.

For me, that’s what has been the most rewarding part… the practice. There is no “official” real moment right? Any time can be the time we get that magical photo.

Unfortunately I don’t find that many people talk about this. There’s a lot of egos out there and nobody wants to admit that what they’re doing has a degree of chaos to it and possibility of failure. But I’m here to tell you that’s a lie. And if you buy in to it, you’re robbing yourself of an amazing experience to embrace some of the chaos, and when paired with good camera settings and some preparation, you can make some amazing bird and wildlife photos.

What Nobody Tells You About Bird Photography

“I haven’t been a bird / wildlife photographer for 30 years and I don’t have photos in magazines or galleries. I’ve learned it over the last 5+ years and I know exactly the problems people go through, because I go through them too and they’re fresh in my head.”

Matt Kloskowski (the guy that won’t bore you with “back then… it was so much harder” stories)

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

HOW CAN I WATCH THIS COURSE? ONLINE OR DOWNLOAD? HOW MANY COMPUTERS?

The course is available to stream online through mattk.com and you’ll have lifetime access. You can watch it online on up to two computers at the same time.

You also have the option to download the course to your computer as well. However, due to the large size and high quality videos in this course, it is very large and can take hours to download – so it’s advisable to watch this online.

IS IT FOR BEGINNERS OR ADVANCED?

This course is meant for beginner to intermediate bird / wildlife photographers. We will cover everything about exposure and auto focus for bird photography, however, we will not go over camera basics. You will be expected to know how to operate your camera at a basic level.

WILL MY SPECIFIC CAMERA BE COVERED?

I am using a Sony camera for this course. However, I have gone through GREAT (Great… Great x 3) lengths to make sure that everything I cover is similar in other camera systems. I even give you a “cheat sheet” video guide to show you how similar Auto Focus settings are in other big camera brands. Trust me… regardless of what camera brand you’re shooting, you will be able to follow along, especially when you realize just how similar the main settings are among cameras.

WHAT SOFTWARE DOES THIS COURSE COVER?

This is not a software course. Photo editing will not be covered. However I do have a “Wildlife Editing Secrets” course that was released this past April that covers photo editing with Photoshop and Lightroom. (Click Here for More Info)

DO I HAVE TO START THIS COURSE ON A CERTAIN DAY OR FOLLOW A SCHEDULE?

No, not at all. This is self-paced. When you purchase the course you’ll have lifetime access to it. You can watch them at any time, on your own schedule. There are no specific dates that you need to follow.

IS THIS A SUBSCRIPTION?

Nope. It’s a one time purchase. You will download these videos to your computer (or watch them online) and you can keep them and watch them whenever you’d like.

WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE BIRD IN FLIGHT CHALLENGE?

The “Bird in Flight” photo challenge will begin on October 1st, 2021. You will receive an email with instructions on how to submit a photo before that day.

I could put written testimonials, but photos show that the techniques I teach work. These photos are from real students of mine who I have taught my bird in flight techniques to.

Who Is Matt Kloskowski?
If I could sum myself up in to one sentence I’d say that I’m a guy who really loves to teach. When I think about what I enjoy most in this industry, it’s helping people learn about photography and photo editing. I don’t shoot professionally, I don’t have any trade secrets, and I hold ABSOLUTELY NOTHING back. Do I love the occasional compliment on my photography? Sure… who doesn’t? But what really keeps me going is when I hear success stories from people who have taken my courses. So hop on board, and I hope to hear from you soon 🙂
