Is this the same course you've sold before?
No. This is a brand new course, with all new material and many new techniques. Between the selections, brushing techiniques and textures, this will offer anyone (even if you purchased the legacy course) something new and fun to work with.
But Matt... this isn't photography. It's fake digital art...
You are correct. If you just want to edit pure photography and keep it natural to the in-camera photo, that’s totally fine. The majority of what I work with is exactly that and I happen to have thousands of training videos that do that over and over again. However, this has it’s place just like compositing (which is also another popular topic). It’s creative, it’s fun, it’s different and in the end is there anything wrong with that? It may not be what you personally want, but I can tell you from past sales where I’ve created content like this, MANY people love it and it’s one of my best sellers. But I understand that it’s rather specialized in some ways, and not what you’re looking for. Feel free to move on and not send me a message about how much you don’t like it 😉
Does this course only apply to Wildlife photos?
Nope. Texture blending is a great technique to use on many types of photos including wildlife, still life, landscapes, flowers, boats… you name it.
What software and versions will I need?
This course uses Photoshop. Texture blending involves layers which is a tool only available in Photoshop and doesn’t exist in Lightroom or Lightroom Classic.
This course is created for the 2025 versions of Photoshop, though most of everything I teach will work in the 2024 version as well.
NOTE: Other image editors like ON1 or Skylum have layers and masks and the techniques will (mostly) work. Just know that all of my videos only cover Photoshop.
Is this a subscription?
No. It is a one time purchase. You buy it, and you own it forever. You can download it directly to your computer or log in and stream online. You get both with your purchase.
What skill is this course aimed at?
Like nearly all of my editing courses, the skill level is late beginner to intermediate. If you watch me edit, you’ll see I don’t use complicated tools.
I really believe the magic is knowing WHAT TO DO with the tools… not knowing MORE tools as a whole.
If you know the Photoshop basics of using Layers, selections, and brushes, then you have all you need to follow this course.
