Adobe finally added the much needed masking edge features to Lightroom recently. Now we have 2 settings (Feather and Edge) that help us blend the edges of a mask to make it look more realistic.

Thank you for the video on this much needed tool. I have been enjoying masking since learning more about it from your videos and this issue with trees and sky specifically has been making me crazy! I’m so glad there is a way to fix those imperfect edges.

You mentioned AI Denoise on LR Mobile. Any chance you could point us to info about that? I’ve looked but can’t find anything.
Hi Kristine. I googled “AI denoise for Lightroom ipad” and this came back with some good results. It’s in the same place it is on the desktop (Detail panel).

When I get into Masking, Lightroom has the feature to detect people. It looks for people in the images. It says, “No People”. There ARE people in the image.
It started in the update before 15.5. I updated to 15.5 today and it still does not work.

Thanks Matt for the tips.
In the “What’s New in Lightroom (August 2026)” for LRC, you used the Exposure and Contrast sliders instead of the Temp slider to darken up the sky. Why?
Hi Temperature controls color, Exposure and contrast would control Tone (darkness, brightness). So if I was trying to darken something, Temp wouldn’t be something I would use. Thanks.

How can I make the fether & edge sliders visible in the right panel when I have a mask selected? I have a pull down bar, but it keeps snapping back up before I can use the slider. Keep the videos coming!
