While color can be one of the important edits we do to a photo, it does get confusing where to do it. There are so many color adjustments in so many places, that sometimes we forget one of the most important things and that is selecting the right colors and areas of the photo to edit in the first place. In this tutorial we’ll talk about one of the first things you should do before any color editing in both Lightroom and Photoshop Camera Raw. Enjoy!

you did not mention that under point color to go under the range drop down arrow. there for more controls to fine tune the color even more so that sky would not be affected as you adjusted the blue in the ballon.
thank you for your videos you are a great teacher I do have your presets
Very helpful with the manipulating of color.
Just came across this video now. I find that those halos are most noticable as a result of sharpening. JPG’s always have them, due to the auto-sharpening and are visible at light/dark interfaces such as at the sky/land interface. When sharpening a RAW photo, halos are the first thing I watch for and I try to keep the radius and amount to a bare minimum. But when halos are unavoidable, these techniques to remove them can save the picture.
Thanks

Another win for Matt’s teaching! I knew about the masking tool and color mixer but not much about manipulating color in conjunction with those tools. I appreciate every YouTube photographer who helps me do a better job editing. Thank you Matt, you explain concisely in a short amount of time.
That was so helpful! Thank you for showing us these tips!
Well done, as always. A great job showing us how to make fine, targeted color adjustments. Which is really the way it should be used
