Hey everyone. I’m really psyched to be doing a FREE webcast today with onOne Software. They just released Photo Suite 8 and some of the effects in it are so good that I’m going back and re-editing old photos. So at 12pm ET today, I’m going to show my workflow between Lightroom and Perfect Photo Suite (mostly Perfect Effects). I’ll start from the original unedited photo and take you all the way through the process of what I do in Lightroom and what I do with the plug-ins. I’ll also be stopping every once in a while to answer questions.
Here’s the link to sign up: www.ononesoftware.com/webinar/enhancing-landscapes-in-the-perfect-photo-suite-8-with-matt-kloskowski/
It’s free so I hope you can stop in and check it out. Have a good one.
Hi Matt,
I just watched your webinar; enjoyed it. Thanks.
I’ve been using the OnOne Software products for years and own Perfect Photo Suite 8.
Here’s a workflow issue that took me a while to learn and I have not heard it stressed enough in the webinars that I have watched…
If you take a photo from LR to Perfect Effects
(or any of the other modules, except Perfect Layers), make changes, then
“Apply” the effects, Perfect Photo flattens the layers you created.
Then, if you open the photo in Photoshop, or back in Perfect Photo, you
are not able to access the individual layers (and, thus the individual
effects). In order to maintain the layers created in Perfect Photo, you
must take your photo from LR into PERFECT LAYERS. Then, you can navigate
to any of the modules to add effects. When you “Apply” the
effects from any module, Perfect Photo takes your photo BACK TO PERFECT
LAYERS–where you then “Save” the photo–with the layers intact.
Hi Matt
Slightly off topic..A buddy of mine attended your seminar here in Seattle and mentioned that you use a laptop exclusively for adjusting your photos in LR. I assume you manage your color and I’m curious how you calibrate the laptop? I’m also guessing you are using a macbook pro with retina display? Do you calibrate the same way you would a regular desk top setup? I had not heard of someone using the laptop only for photo work and found it really interesting….
Thanks
George
Hey George. Yup laptop only. I know lots of people who do the same. Although i do have a large LCD on my desk I plug in to.
I use the Spyder calibration device on both of them. Hope that helps!
