In a previous video I showed how to get your (favorite) Lightroom Classic photos to online galleries and portfolios. But what if you wanted to have them on your phone too. As they say… there’s an app for that! Adobe has an app for the phone that will automatically see any Collections/Albums that you’ve shared (AKA Synced) from Lightroom Classic. So if you’re going out to dinner with some friends or family, and want to show off some photos from a trip or event, this is an easy way to get them on your phone / tablet without emailing them to yourself or using some other online service.

This is very useful, but i tend to only use Smart Collections as I love the capability on LR to filter/tag/keyword/etc. Do you know if there any plans to support Sync on Smart Collections in the future ? That would be awesome !
I don’t know for sure but I doubt you’ll see it any time soon. Great seeing you in the webinar today.
Thanks Matt, I can see this can be very useful.
Just wanted to add that you can’t sync dynamic collections, only static ones. In the past I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my collections wouldn’t sync as all my collections are dynamic.
Hi Ton, Yes Im in the same position use. Fully leveraging the Smart Collection Capability, but then scupper with the Sync limitations. fingers crossed for an update some time….
Thanks Matt. Certainly much clearer now !!
I might even try it now?
Can you go the other direction? Take photos from phone into LR on desktop?
Yes, that’s another video 🙂
Thanks. I’ll be looking for it—Dale
Once again Matt, you have knocked it outta the park. Thank you so much.
If you have the latest Apple TV, you can download the Lightroom App and use it display your synced collections on a big screen TV.
Thanks Matt
I often thought of doing this but never new the steps
With your video, I can now give it a try.
Matt. As always l love these little quick tutorials. Question about LR classic photos going to the phone…. why on the phone do they say Raw on them. In listening and looking at your examples it did not say raw, I assume just pulled your smart preview over to the phone. Pete
Matt,
Thanks so much for sharing some good news! Your videos and the many comments shared by the Lightroom and Photoshop communities are a calming influence in these trying times. Good health to you, your family and all the folks in our shared photography community.
Thanks again,
