There’s some pretty cool possibilities for creating presets with the Adjustment Brush in Lightroom. This week I have 3 presets that create a sunflare effect that you can brush on to your photos. It’s a little different from the normal Develop module presets, but I think there’s a lot of possibilities here for some creative brushing in Lightroom.
First, make sure you watch the video below. It shows you how to install the presets since it’s a little different that normal and it also shows you an example of where you’d use them. Then, of course, you can download the presets by clicking on the link right here:

how do i get this to work in lightroom 5? i followed the instructions and i can find the downloaded file in the correct folder next to the dodge tool et but when i clip the bruch tool>effects its not there. confused!
Thank you again Matt!
Hey Matt. Love your posts. Having trouble installing these in LR 4.1. Says “Error importing “Sunflare – Strong.lrtemplate”. The preset file was the wrong type of preset.”
Seems others have it working ok. Any thoughts?
That usually happens when you try to install the .zip file rather than unzipping it. Or maybe you’re trying to put them in the wrong place. Did you watch the video on the page and put them in the Local Adjustments folder for the Adjustment Brush?
Got it! Thanks Matt!
These work fine in my LR3.5, thanks Matt!
I have LR3 and loaded it- works fine =) Thanks!
THANKS MATT! LOVE THE PRESET!
Thanks very much, Matt! With the video installation was a breeze!
Nope. Just Lightroom 4.
Do these not work on lightroom 3?
