I’m heading out to San Francisco today (Monday) to teach a free Lightroom class (tomorrow) with my bud Jared Platt. Jared’s an awesome instructor, and just an overall funny and cool guy. I’ve been at various events with him a few times over the years, but we’ve never really gotten to train together. So I’m really psyched to be tag-teaming a Lightroom course with him tomorrow at Creative Live.
It’s totally free to watch. You can sign up right here.
Free Organizing Your Photos in Lightroom Class Streaming Live Today
In other free-stuff-news, my award winning Organizing Your Photos in Lightroom class is streaming live today over on the brand-spanking-new on1 Photos website (like how I snuck award-winning in there – are there even awards for these kinds of classes? 😉 ). Anyway, to help celebrate the launch of our new site we’re giving away all kinds of free stuff this week so make sure you stop by.
Whew! That’s about it for today. Not sure how anyone is making money these days since everything is free, but hey… take advantage of it 🙂 Have a good one!
I am currently using Photoshop Elements 13 and Lightroom 5 as my catalog and editing programs. Adobe is advertising it’s CC Photography Plan that includes Photoshop CC and Lightroom for $9.99 a month. This sounds very tempting but since I know nothing about this concept, I have several questions about it.
(1) What experiences/recommendations have other members had with this setup.
(2) What are the pros and cons.
(3) If someone decided to no longer pay the monthly lease, what happens to the programs? Do they lock out so that you would need to purchase the full versions if you wanted to continue to use them, or can you continue to use them but without updates or enhancements?
Thank you!

LR and LR CC would be largely unusable without easy web search for how to get unstuck… like when set of controls just disappear cause a finger touched a set of keys… yikes.
Thx !
Hi Matt,
i just watched the free Intro & Basics video you have to Photoshop & Lightroom at Creative Link. I loved the way you explain things and the example you used made things very clear.
I’ve looked at a various videos on youtube and other websites but have to say that your explanation seemed very simple and I think it would be easiest for me to learn from.
As a complete novice to digital post production what would be the best course/courses of yours to start with so that I can learn from the beginning how to organise and edit my images to a standard where I could have them printed and hung on a wall?
Thanks,
Mark
