Adobe just released the latest update to Photoshop and I’ve got a video covering everything that’s new. Enjoy!
How can I save the mask as png format in camera raw?
Hi. Masks can’t be saved like that.
So how can we use the mask in photo editing? only can be saved as xmp?
Hi Matt: how do I get the rid of the sky from the tips of the eagle when applying a textured back ground.
I can’t find the video where you did explain this.
Thank you,
Hi. You’d have to adjust the mask to show more or less. Not an exact science so it definitely requires some tinkering.
Hi Matt: By using Neural filter and Harmonization take the place of using the standard way of applying textured backgrounds?
Hi Matt:I know I asked this question about a week ago but you have so many helpful tutorials I now can’t find the one where I submitted the question. So apologies for trying again. The PS sky replacement feature works great in my “normal” size images but when I try to substitute a sky in a composite panorama (dimensions 19211×3667 pix) I get “Could not complete your request because of a program error.” Is this because the dimensions of the panorama are too big, or is it because the panorama is a PS composite of several images? Sorry if you’ve already answered this somewhere and I can’t find it.
Great mini tutorials on Lr & PS. I was always a reluctant warrior with learning to use masks. These updates, and your tutorials make masking and localized adjustment a fun new series of tool for me.
Thanks
Thanks a lot, Matt. This is of great help!
Can you tell me the Release Number of the update you are referencing? I just updated to 22.5.2 and it does none of the things you mention.
I got the update done.
Thank you Matt
Hi Matt
Great video and I bought your Deep Dive course. I notice that Adobe have pulled the Nueral Filters due to a problem.
Any ideas why?
Not sure John. They’re still there for me.
Thanks Matt! Nicely done.
Really appreciate your making these videos. Thanks.
I have PS version 21.2.12 and missed upgrade to 22.5.2 Can I now just upgrade to version 23.0 and skip 22.5.2?
I don’t understand what version 22.5.2 says “Installing this version of Photoshop will disable the auto-update setting for this app to prevent overwriting with a new version in the future.”
I hope you have a moment or two to advise me.
Hi Sally. Good rule of thumb… Always just install the biggest number (version 23).
Thank you Matt.
I commented earlier about this, but I tried to update to Release 23, and they want me to pay twice as much as I was paying for the “old” Photoshop plan. Is that because I updated to 22.5.2? If I had not updated would the price still have gone up?
I don’t think I can afford $250+ per year for Rel. 23. That’s just too much!
Please disregard the above msg. I tried updating again and it worked. So sorry to fill up the comments.
Great videos as always mate! quick question… I did buy your PS & LR tutorials… are you going to update them with these new Adobe features…? If so when…? (I a asking because I noticed you always keep on updating material which I think is fantastic and super helpful! Thank you!
The only thing I would add is for those that have updated PS and can’t see the Object Selection Tool is to Select Edit > Toolbar and then click Restore Defaults.
Thank you so much. I was driving myself crazy looking for it!
My PS keeps freezing when I try to use the neurofilters. It let me download the landscape one and the harmonize one but when I try to use them, it freezes
Wow just stunning tools
Great tutorials, thank you Mat.
I have a gut feeling and I’ll appreciate a sincere answer: Is it an Adobe directive to shift us Photoshop Lovers for ages towards Lightroom?
I am not going to follow, I’ll stick to Photoshop+ACR together with Bridge forever!
Hi. I think you’re reading too much in to this. It’s not trying to shift us to anything. It’s addressing a very real problem of making local adjustments on a raw photo and tracking those adjustments. We got used to the “pins” but nobody like it and thought it was a good idea. And when LR’s competitors have all implemented a layer like approach for local adjustments it was time LR did too.
I don’t use Lightroom. Will these presets work in ACR?
Yes.
I’m strictly a BR, ACR, PS PC user. I’ll be able to use your new class just fine? You’ve been instrumental teaching me and hoping your new info will be the jump start I’m needing. Many thanks!
Photoshop 2022 (and Lightroom Classic 2022) requires Mac OS 10.15 or higher. Will neither load nor run under Mojave.
Correct. I had to update to Catalina on my 2013 MacBook Pro to get LRc 11.0. I’d recommend doing a complete backup prior to updating just in case your system has issues.
Hi
I just read another review that you have to migrate PS brushes/presets. I updated and found them gone, I did this before reading the additional review of the PS update. It was on my laptop so I’m not really concerned. I gather new things will come out.
I gather that if I use your new course, which I signed up for, all will be well?
should I delete the prior presets that you have updated?
Thank you for being on top of this and, as always, explaining so well.
Excellent
Thanks for this, Matt. Great video and well explained.
Incredible improvements and changes to LR, ACR and PS. Great run down.
