Content Aware Fill in Photoshop has to be one of its most powerful features – especially for removing distractions. But a lot of people don’t know there’s actually 2 ways that you can use it. Each of them has a place, and we’ll take a quick look in this video.SHOW MORE
To try out the first method (still running CS6 so don’t have the second one!) I’ve done a simple action set up in button mode – make a selection then run the action which adds a couple of pixels all round and then does CAF. One-click.
I knew that it was there but I never used it because I thought it would do the same thing on a photo. You also explained the use of the quick mask that comes with it. Thank you.
Good tip! I have not used the dialogue box, so this is a good tip indeed. Many thanks for this
In Windows the old content aware is SHIFT F5 I believe.
I would NOT like to see instructions for Luminar Products. I use a Canon EOS R and 10 months after release Skylum still cannot read the files. They suggest that I use Adobe’s free file converter to convert DNG format just so I could use their software which has to be one the biggest cheeks ever as they try to steal Adobe’s business. Skylum is just not professional.
Skylum is not alone. OnOne can’t read my EOS R RAW files so i am seriously considering not re-newing my subscrition of the pro package. That will give me a free years subscription to the Adobe Photo package.
Your work with On1 is how I learned of your materials which are excellent. Rather than a comment I hope you can provide your opinion. I switched from LR/PS to On1 due to my DVD based LR6 crashing and finding no help from Adobe. There was some feature of On1 I liked better than LR so I bought On1. Some time afterwards the Windows 10 operating system crashed. It took most of a year to recover from that and then a couple months later the hard drive died. My new computer is powerful with numbers easily exceeding On1 requirements. There have been continuous problems now with the new computer. A Dell agent tried to fix it using a remote system but gave up and recommended sending it to their repair facility. They replaced the hard drive and Windows 10 OS. The problems continue. On1 is the only program on the computer other than what came with the computer. On1, as usual has tried to help but to no avail. One odd problem they say is a known bug they are working on. I tend to believe the problem is with Windows but have no way of knowing.
What is your opinion? Is On1 a program equal to or close to the equal of LR/PS or does it tend to have problems? I’m exceedingly frustrated and would greatly appreciate the opinion of someone who doesn’t have a dog in the fight but knows the industry well. Dell says the machine is good and the problem is a software problem. Windows 10 has had 3 clean installs since I purchased the computer.
Hi Larry. I personally use LR and PS because I believe it’s the best software for the best price. ON1 is a good alternative if you must find one. I’ll teach it, but I don’t personally use it. Unfortunately, any hardware or crashing issues are way beyond anything I know, so I could only point you to the resources you’ve already tried. Sorry I’m not more help. Thanks.
Hey Larry:
I can’t help but notice that your problems seem to follow you even after your many attempts to correct them. Such as: old computer, new computer; Windows 10, Windows 10; much software, minimal software; LR/PS, On1; old hard drive, new hard drive; etc… You get it I’m sure, but one thing that remains constant while having all theses problems that wasn’t mentioned is your source of electrical power.
Have you checked to see if your electric power is stable, sufficient & that you don’t have any grounding issues? It’s possible that an intermittent ground can play some serious games with complex electrical equipment like computers.
Just a thought to try to help.

I don’t know if this is improper, but I would like to see you do instructions on Luminar products.
It’s not improper. I will do Luminar videos, but it just doesn’t have anything close to this feature demo’d in this video. Thanks.
