If you want to know what’s new in Lightroom 8.1 and the December 2018 update, here’s a quick 6 minute video that goes over the new features like customizing the order of your Lightroom Develop panels, preset changes, collections on Auto Import of photos, and a Photo Book Module layout change.
Also, here’s a link that I mentioned in the video that has some tips on how to speed up Lightroom and squeeze some more performance out of it. Enjoy!
Hi Matt. I have one question maybe you can helpmeet out. When I open Lr Classic CC, the bar where the (3) three color dots, the Red. Yellow and Green are located is missing. Maybe you can tell me how I can recover the bar. I have been looking all over and no luck.
Thanks for all your tips and videos.
Yep. Just hit Shift+F to cycle through. By the way, that’s covered in my “Troubleshooting Lightroom” course and a bunch of other stuff, if you ever have any other issues 🙂
Just want to chime in with a thank you…you always do a GREAT job keeping using the loop of what is new!
You’re very welcome Kim!
Just a simple, thank you! Really appreciate the quick updates and suggestions. Appreciate all you do.
Hi Matt. As usual, your quick video overviews of updates are helpful and a good way to get the “Cliff Notes” version. I appreciate them, and this one. Quick question on a parallel topic of updates: Where would I find the link or address to send pestering requests to Adobe of “Just Do Its” for LR? An annoying update oversight in all updates so far is the continuing limit of the Slideshow Module Export for video to 1080. It’s getting harder to find any large display screen that isn’t 4K these days, and even 4K monitors are now showing up regularly. If you have that link, would you post it? Thanks.
Hi Jim. I googled “where do I leave Lightroom feedback for Adobe” and came up with this. Hope it helps: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family
Hi Matt, it looks like you forgot to include a link to the video on how to speed up Lightroom. Or did I miss it?
Joe the link popped up in video upper right corner, if you missed it here it is
Hi Joe. It pops up in the video and is listed in the text. But here you go:
