The fall is always a big time for software updates and this fall isn’t any different. ON1 just released the latest version of their software called ON1 Photo Raw 2022. Below you’ll find a video where I recap some of the major new features in this version. Enjoy!

I love teaching and photography... In that order. I feel that enjoying photography, and photo editing can get WAY too complicated. So my personal mission (and favorite thing to do), is to create education that simplifies the process of taking great photos, and how to edit them to get the results you’ve always wanted.
Thanks Matt, good overview video. Long term user of ON1 and love it. I also do a lot of time lapse and to be honest I wasn’t expecting ON1 to achieve this very well. It is a very complex and specialised process. I was right, they totally bombed it and it is virtually unusable. Major color shifts, major loss of quality. The end results are unusable by any standard. Oh well, just as well the rest of it is excellent. Love the other improvements though.
I have been grandfathered into on 1… but i use it from lightroom and PS especially. Do i need to bother upgrading to the 2022? if i can’t use it from PS

Does On1 replace Lightroom?
Why can we not go from ps to on1 and visa versa any more,not satified customer…..
I would suggest reaching out to them. I did, and although their response was lame, they did correct the situation for me. So, I am now much less dissatisfied. On the other hand, I am not sure I have much confidence in my future with ON1. Matt, Hudson, you and I, we all use the plug-ins. They can’t withdraw them from the subscription and keep us as users. It’s the only part of the tool set many of us have ever used.
I contacted ON 1 also. Seems to me that the only way some of these new features will work is if ON1 is your primary editor. I do not understand why the LRC and PS no longer are user friendly with ON 1Lots of unhappy folks here.
In 2022 they separated the plugin from On1 Raw. If you have 2021 you should still be able to go from PhotoShop to On1 or you can buy their plugin product. It really depends on your workflow – if On1 is your primary Data Asset Management and pp software you can now use PhotoShop plugins for topaz, nik, etc directly from it or push your images to PhotoShop and Lightroom. If you are an adobe user but want to have the current features of On1 then you need the plugin package. If you do both there is an Ultimate version with both. I can tell you the existing On1 user base didn’t take the new well but since On1 is my primary pp software it didn’t affect me at all.
