Adobe just released an update to Photoshop 2020. And while there aren’t a ton of new features, if you’re in to making selections of people/hair, you’re going to be amazed at the Select Subject improvements that were made in the latest version. In addition, Adobe gave Camera Raw a big facelift as well as adding the same selective Hue adjustment features that Lightroom Classic has now too.
Also, if you haven’t seen my “What’s New in Lightroom Classic” video, make sure you swing by and watch that one too.
Hi Matt,
Where is the crop tool in the new Camera Raw??
Thanks!!
PS: Just ordered your Print Course!!
Hi Stuart – it’s in the top right of the interface.
Matt, I can’t see how to install LUT’s thru camera raw in the newest version of photoshop/camera raw. They don’t have the heading anymore where you can alt/option click and get the profile window to install the color look up table.
Are they installed differently in the newest version?
Click on the overlapping circles in right-hand toolbar. Should look familiar- proceed as before.
Thanks, Matt. Great info, as usual.
Question… is there a way in the new ACR to toggle the effect of edits made in brush, radial, and gradient? I know that clicking and holding the eye icon will toggle edits for the individual panels in Edit, but I haven’t found a way for brush, radial and gradient. Thanks!
Thanks Matt. I appreciate your quick summary of new features for both LR and Photoshop. Cheers.
Thanks Matt!
Thank you so much for all the information!
I always hold off a bit re: Ps CC updates to determine if any significant bugs or gotchas. 1- Will this June 2020 update wipe out any Actions I’ve installed into the pre-June Ps CC (in other words, not std to Ps from Adobe)? 2- Ditto, will the new Ps CC update wipeout any of the color coding I’ve assigned to various menu items in Ps? 3- Are 3rd party plugins (I have a lot) affected by the update or do they all carry over seamlessly?
Hi. I’m not aware of any issues.
How the heck do I continue to create a panorama in raw. The tools to select all and combine all, formerly in the upper left hand corner of Raw are gone.
Very informative! You make learning easy. One thing I haven’t been able to find in the new Photoshop concerns PS actions. The loading of the action itself hasn’t changed. But before I went to Preset Manager to load the action’s brush and pattern. Now the Preset Manager only has Contour and Tools. I loaded the brush and pattern in the Brush panel and Pattern panel but now the action doesn’t recognize it as belonging to it. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thank you!
Thanks Matt. Great service, as always.
Is there a targeted selection tool to select a hue? I like to replicate a particular color to match a piece of jewelry for example or adjust and match skin color.
Thank you Matt! And my thanks to Adobe. This is one update I appreciate. Eager check out the graphics side of improvements now.
Thanks Matt. You put a lot of work in keeping your followers up to date and, believe me, it is very much appreciated.
Matt I appreciate your publishing this so quickly. It is very helpful.
Thank you so much. I generally go to updates using the Creative Cloud to start PS. I would have been totally blind sided this morning had I not read your email first. Great features, but now to get used to the new interface…
Thanks so much Matt, you are doing a great job with OnOne. Excited to see some workshops coming here in Sarasota. And is the 360 a iPad software?
