Hi everyone!
I know many of you use Topaz Photo AI and I wanted to let you know they’ve updated to version 4. A few things to know before we get started…
- Whenever they do update to a new version, they typically run a sale. Best thing to do, since there are no coupon codes, is to log in to your account at Topaz and see what your upgrade price is. As always if you use my link on this page, it’s always appreciated and doesn’t cost you a penny.ย
Log in to Topaz’s Website to find out your upgrade price (there are no coupons). - If you purchased Photo AI more than a year ago, then you will have to upgradeย to get the latest along with another 1 year of ongoing upgrades. However… (keep reading)
- If you purchased Photo AIย in the past year, this latest release is included with your upgrade license. You can download it from Topaz’s website. And finally…
- I did a quick video to show you what’s new. Just scroll below.
My Photo AI / Adobe Workflow Course
I also wanted to let you know the Topaz Photo AI + Adobe Workflow course will get a free update this week so stay tuned and I’ll email instructions out to you. And if you purchase the course this week, most of everything included in it is the same so it still works, but you’ll get the update for free as well.

Going to upgrade my Photo AI would love discount code. I assume there is a place in my account to type the code. Thx so much. Love love your videos. So helpful
Matt
I anxiously await a video on workflow for Topaz Photo Ai.
Hi Richard. I see you just purchased the Topaz + Adobe Workflow course and the workflow videos are there. While I am updating a few of the videos based on the new version of Topaz, the workflow videos don’t need updating as everything is the same when it comes to Adobe Workflow. Thanks and enjoy!
thanks for the demo
Hi Matt, I have been using the dust & scratch tool, having scanned a bunch of family photos from the 60s, which were really dirty ( lens/ shutter dust +++) and in a lot of cases it works really well, however, in some it causes bizarre facial distortion. There images havenโt been sharpened & I canโt understand what is happening. Have you experienced anything like this?
Hi Martin. It’s AI generated and yes, I have seen it do some odd things. As I said in the video, I’m not sure you buy Topaz for that. It’s a nice to have if you need it but Photoshop works pretty good at dust and scratches. Thanks.
Great video Matt. Thanks
Matt, I have been renewing my Topaz directly with Topaz for Years. I would be happy to move it over to Your Link but don’t know how to do this. Let Me know if there is anything I can do.
Thanks Keith. Click any link to Topaz in any post I mention. Or simply click here and I’ll get a little bit of credit for it: https://bit.ly/matt-topaz
Best!
First…Thx for all you do, always learning and you make it enjoyable. The Dust and Scratches didn’t seem to do very well in your video. Fortunately I don’t think I would use it much anyway. Besides being faster with the additional Scratch mode and super focus are there much improvements in general deoise and sharpening?
Thx again, have a great week
Hi Noel. There was a quirk in my re-doing and re-undoing my work 10 times while recording this video and practicing the tutorial for it. Once I closed the photo and opened it fresh again, it worked well and every brush stroke removed whatever I pointed it at perfectly. As for improvements, this is the Photo AI 4 Release Notes from Topaz: https://community.topazlabs.com/t/topaz-photo-ai-4-0-new-dust-scratch-ai-model/90709
Thanks.
Thanks Matt. Always appreciate your comments on new software releases.
Hi Matt,
I wanted to watch your “What’s New in Topaz Photo AI” but it kept asking me to log in. I did log in, but still couldn’t get to it. Can you help?
Thanks,

Hi. If you receive a โSign in to Confirm Youโre not a botโ message this is not my website that causes this. This is a YouTube / Apple Safari issue. You can read more about it and how to fix it here. https://mattk.com/issue-with-watching-videos/
Alternatively you can copy/paste the link to this page in to another non-Apple browser or go directly to my YouTube page to watch this video. Thanks!
Pls send the Workflow instructions for Photo AI .
I am so appreciative of all you do to help old folks like myself navigate new technology.
Love the video course on printmaking.

Matt, long time customer of yours. I am sure you addressed this in your course but I don’t remember. Why go to denoise in raw vs an edited file?
Hi. You’ll get better results sending the raw file in first. Thanks
Nice presentation. Dust and scratch needs a lot more work. It leaves a lot of work to be done. I have been using it successfuly to recover faces in OLD photos.
I love your videos! They are very helpful and informative. Thanks for your expertise.
Matt, I have been using Topaz “Forever” — but AI 4 is, to my eyes, the best upgrade ever! I love what it does with small pixel count faces!
(And I haven’t seen you forever either! Last was a PS World in Vegas — we talked while Scott played the guitar)
