My First 3 Months with the Sony A7R 5
NOTE: Feel free to leave your thoughts and any questions below... I've had a Sony a7R 5 for a few months now. I don't like to write too much about any software or camera right away, because it takes a while to really feel comfortable with them. But after 3 months I...
Select Anything with the Object Masking Tool
Both Lightroom and Photoshop Camera Raw have some really powerful masking tools to help make selections for us automatically. One of those tools is fairly new and doesn't get talked about nearly enough, but it's actually a tool I use more often than most. It's the...

My Thoughts on Workshops or In Person Classes?
Hi all. I thought I'd write an answer to a question I've gotten a lot lately. The question usually comes in the form of what workshops or in-person classes do I have coming up. I figured I could answer it publicly here, so you have a better idea where I'm at on this....
This Photoshop Tip Saved My Sanity

As we start the new year I'd like to invite you to embrace a concept that I consider the key to my success over the years. It's something you've heard me talk about before, but I'm dedicating an entire page to it because I feel it's that important. COMMENT: Also, I'd...
What Happened to the Done Button in Lightroom?
Over the years I've had this love/hate relationship with the DONE button in Lightroom Classic. Honestly, it was more hate. That's because I never used it, but I'd always get questions on what the difference between using the DONE button was when using a tool, instead...

Another 2023 Calendar Template Idea

Noise Reduction Workflow – When to Do It?
If you use a third party app (Topaz, ON1, DxO, etc...) for Noise Reduction then you've probably thought about when you should do that in your workflow. Many of the companies actually suggest you do your noise reduction first, on the raw file for the best results. But...
